Florabundance Design Days 2017 Day 1

Early this past January I traveled to Santa Barbara, CA to attend the 5th Annual Florabundance Inspirational Design Days produced by Florabundance Wholesale Florist in Carpinteria, CA. Just like the previous year, I had an amazing time; learned a ton, laughed, toured an stunning garden, and met several world-renowned artists in the floral design industry.

All photographs were taken by Lerina Winter of Winter Creative Co and Sarah Colliers of Taken By Sarah Photography.

The first two days we had the awing opportunity to spend our days learning and designing at LotusLand Gardens in Montecito, California. It was a touch rainy, but the sun seemed to shine at the perfect moments. The third day was again at Rincon Beach Club to design and get ready for the farewell dinner.

Day 1: We took a ride from our hotel, (with views of the ocean I might add), on the black Florabundance bus to see the Florabundance wholesale location where breakfast and coffee was waiting for us. Jodi Duncan, AIFD presented for Design Master Products and Gayle Smith with Crysal taught us a thing or two about flower care.

Next stop was the lovely LotusLand. There we learned all about what's new in Instagram with my mentor and friend, Alicia Schwede of Bella Fiori and Flirty Fleurs blog.

After learning about Instagram we walked over to a tent on an open grassy section of the gardens, (to be prepared for rain!), to learn bouquet creating from the ever amazing Amy Osaba.

(This is my bouquet from the instruction from Amy Osaba)

What a whirl wind first day! Also, if you're wondering, yes I did meet Amy Osaba and yes I had my photo taken with her. Gotta have proof, ya know!

Day 2 is up next!
